A New Year, A Colorful Reflection

With a brand new year underway, I’ve been taking some time to look back on everything Vivid & Vibrant experienced over the past year and I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. The past year was filled with opportunities that challenged me, shaped me, and reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. Professionally and personally, it was a year of growth, experimentation, and learning in full color.

This past year allowed me to try new things, stretch my skills, and discover where my true strengths and favorite niches live. Yes, that phrasing was intentional. While the internet loves to chant “niche down,” I’ve continued to embrace curiosity and creative freedom. Event coverage, portraits, celebrations, milestones. Each experience taught me something different, from how I show up as a professional to how deeply inspired I am by my clients. I photographed graduates stepping boldly into their next chapter, families and friends celebrating together, and individuals answering faith driven calls into ordained ministry. Every session left its mark.

I am far from perfect, a bold thing to admit publicly, but it’s also one of the guiding principles of this brand. Perfection isn’t the goal. Authenticity is. I want my clients to feel free to be exactly who they are. Maybe that looks like striking a pose on a golf course or leaning a little too far out of a cart at a charity tournament. Maybe it’s laughing uncontrollably during your graduation session because you’ve just reunited with your best friend from undergrad. Maybe it’s friendships formed at Oktoberfest or the powerful moment when a faith community gathers to witness an ordination. Life is messy, meaningful, and anything but black and white.
