Potency of Privacy: Why only certain shoots make it into the portfolio…

Short one but a potent one friends! Let me know what you think! Should everyone get a portfolio generator so they can stop asking friends?

I get this question a lot:“If you offer child portraits, school events, and family parties… why don’t I see them on your website?”.

One of my favorite little “clients” is actually my niece. I’ve documented birthdays, showers, even created artwork that hangs in their home. But you won’t find her on my website. My brother and sister-in-law made the call to keep her off the public internet while she’s little, and that boundary? Fully honored.

Here’s the thing: trust isn’t built in a single session. It’s built in the quiet moments—when clients know I’m not just there to take a great photo, but to protect it too.

Because let’s be real… the first week of school? The candid chaos? The perfectly imperfect kid moments? They’re magic—but they’re also personal. And you deserve to decide where those moments live.

And when that trust is there? That’s when the magic really starts to unfold. ✨
